2004 Project - Sierra Leone

In 2004, ODW raised funds for a new school and supplies in Sierra Leone, Africa.  A year later, it was revealed to us that USAID had not sent the funds to this project.  USAID identified Homeland Security issues with the Board of Trustees for the Sierra Leone project; one of the board members was under FBI investigation, and the list of Board members kept changing.   Thetford Academy requested the funds be returned to us that we earned for that project so we could redistribute them as we saw fit.  USAID returned $10,669 to TA the spring of 2005.  The entire student body voted to distribute the money to five different projects we were aware of in the area.  Funds were distributed in relation to the number of votes each project got on the ballot.  The following organizations received funds as follows:
